The replacement for Sierra Highway and part of US Route 6. It starts around where Interstate 210 ends at Interstate 5, and also known as the Antelope Valley Freeway (The interchange between the I-5 and SR-14 is known as the "Clarence Wayne Dean Memorial Interchange". Clarence Wayne Dean was a Los Angeles Police Officer. During the Northridge Earthquake he fell to his death after the interchange gave way while going to work on his police motorcycle). It almost completely parallels its predecessor for the most part. It ends at Mojave, where it meets up US Route 395. Originally, it was supposed to extend all the way to Santa Monica but the construction faced opposition, and so it remained as it does today. Although, if you're wondering, the 22 unconstructed miles of California 14 would have been called the Reseda Freeway.
