Canadian Banks

• The Royal Bank
• TD(The Toronto Dominion Bank)
• The Bank of Montreal
• CIBC(The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce)
• Scotiabank

The chartered banks all operate internationaly Scotiabank and the Royal Bank were the most common banks in Barbados when I was there on vacation.

They attempted to merge into two banks a while back but were stopped by the government.

• Since they cannot merge further, TD and ScotiaBank have acquired Canada Trust and National Trust respectively;
• The Royal Bank's investments have not always been tidy;
• More banks are integrating convenient automated services that cost customers more than to staff branches with efficient personnel;
• On a grand scale, your only other choice for banking is a Credit Union (as Trustcos are popular with the banks) or a jar under your bed;
