Cannibal Corpse

One day back in 1989, two bands from the Buffalo, New York area decided to part their ways. While Tirant Sin and Beyond Death might have ended, Cannibal Corpse had begun. Formed from members of both bands, Cannibal Corpse has had its lineup changed a bit over time. The most notable time this happened is when lead growler and screamer, Chris Barnes, departed and forged a new band, Six Feet Under. Barnes was quickly replaced and the band did not lose stride. Cannibal Corpse play really heavy death metal as quickly as possible. Their lyrics, well, their lyrics are disturbing, as has been mentioned above. I began to get really scared when I first started to understand the vocal onslaught that attacked my ears. As you can tell from their album and song titles, these guys aren't something that mainstream society could attach on to, but nonetheless, they rock. Some members of The 700 Club and Bob Dole during his recent presidential run, not to mention a bunch of pinheaded idiots who don't understand the fact that metalheads just wanna have fun have made efforts to halt Cannibal Corpse, but obviously they failed or gave up and they decided to attack some other band. Freedom of speech is a bitch ain't it?

Sorry about the rant, back to the good stuff. To my knowledge Cannibal Corpse has only made one movie appearance, and that was in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. In the movie, they played thier only single, Hammer Smashed Face. Their songs have also appeared on several compilations by Metal Blade Records.
