Originally an American record label, they were bought by EMI in the 50s, back when their roster included the likes of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. In the 60s, the suits passed up on The Beatles at first (the Beach Boys apparently were enough for them); they eventually milked the Fabs' Parlophone LPs for every last dollar.
