Captain Avatar (Captain Juhzoh Otkita) is the first captain of the Yamato in Starblazers. He is a toughened figher, and a brillant military commander. In Quest for Iscandar, he lead the Yamato despite being sick from radiation poisoning. He unfortunately died shortly before the Star Force returned to Earth in 2200. In the movie Final Yamato, he was cryogenically frozen and brought back to life after a cure for his sickness was found. Then he lead the fight once again, this time against the Deingillians. He appears in Quest for Iscandar, Final Yamato, Be Forever Yamato, and Arrivederci Yamato.
