1881-1966 Leading Italian Futurist painter.

In 1909 he met with Umberto Boccioni, Luigi Russolo and Marinetti. Up to that point the Futurism movement had been primarily for musicians and composers. Carra proposed that painters also be a part of it. Marinetti was very supportive. And so they set about writing their own Manifesto of Futurist Painters. It wasn't finshed and signed until 1910.

In 1917 he met the painter Giorgio de Chirico. The two developed Pittura Metaphysica (Metaphysical Painting).
