Way out in the Pine Barrens (Tabernacle Township), lies one of the strangest monuments in New Jersey. The plaque is written in a spanish and the statue features an Aztec eagle. The monument was created in the memory of the mexican aviator Emilio Carranza. He crashed in the middle of the Barrens on his way home from New York City. The monument has been called "the least visited memorial in New Jersey." Its pretty hard to find, too. The road it lies along doesn't have a name.
