Caught a cold wind

Watching the cherry of her cigarette glow
Burning as hot as the fire in his soul
He caught a cold wind
Froze him to the bone

Every time he sees her near
An icy feeling runs down his spine
The way she makes him feel
Is like a gut full of razors
His blood runs hot and
boils away
After what she said that day

Watching the cherry of her cigarette glow
Burning as hot as the fire in his soul
He caught a cold wind
Froze him to the bone

The cold wind blows through
Wipes the dust and webs from his mind
Her empty voice leaves him sick
Feeling colder than the wind that blew
Like the earth is sinking
and lurching all at the same time
When he heard her voice that's what he felt

Watching the cherry of her cigarette glow
Burning as hot as the fire in his soul
He caught a cold wind
Froze him to the bone

Quench the burn, douse it out
Soak it through and through
Leave it cold and stir the embers
Make sure that damned fire is dead and gone
Don't leave it burning in you
Don't leave it to haunt your nights
To leave you sleep and souless

Watching the cherry of her cigarette glow
Burning as hot as the fire in his soul
He caught a cold wind
Froze him to the bone
