The Center for Public Integrity is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization that investigates the government of the United States and many organizations in the public sector. They publish their findings in books, reports, and newsletters, acting as a watchdog for the American public. Through investigative reporting they have documented the influence of private interests and capital on the political institutions which are supposed to be democratic.

The Center was founded in 1990 by Charles Lewis. Two of their most notable books are The Buying of the Congress and The Buying of the President 2000. The website is at www.publicintegrity.org.
