In
Japanese, the word
chou is kind of a prefix that means "
super", "
ultra", "
ultimate", what have you. It's lately come into
vogue as part of the "
Kogyaru" variant of Japanese, comparable to the speech commonly associated with "
Valley Girls" in the US. It something is "Chou-oishii" it's very delicious; "Chou-kakkoii" is very cool. "Chou mukatsuku", well, that just
sucks.
It gets used sparingly by me in English - just to sound neat. Don't use this in Japan unless you want everybody to think you're an idiot, but it can be a fun superlative when used with other languages.
