A catch-all term embodying several formats, any or all of which might co-exist on a given radio station. There's the low-power AM stations, the electronic equivalent of storefront preachers and a down-home analogue to shortwave radio missionaries. There's the syndicated shows of (right-wing) political heavy-hitters like James Dobson or Janet Parshall, and old-time-religion bible study. Newer trends are knock-offs of popular secular items: talk shows and Contemporary Christian Music.
