County in the mid-west of Ireland. Part of the province of Munster. Principal town is Ennis, which has been declared Ireland's Information Age town, resulting in a massive giveaway of computers. Contains noted areas of immense natural beauty such as The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher.

The second oldest college at Cambridge University. Founded in 1326 by the Lady Clare. Beautiful gardens, pink rooves and an abundance of boaties who wear yellow. Very musical too.

The Irish county also contains amazing little villages such as Fanore, Doolin, Lisdoonvarna (famous for it's batchelor festival).

The areas of great natural beauty exist because the entire area is made from limestone. This means that there are many caves. As I am noding this I have heard that a caver from University College Dublin is injured and trapped in one of these caves. His four compnions have been rescued but they are still trying to extract the injured person. Sitting in New York this is a little unsettling, many of the cavers from this club are good friends of mine. I shall have to make a call in the morning to see if this is one of my friends. UCD caving club lost three of it's member in a caving accident back in 1994, two of whoom I knew fairly well.
