A type of community event where software developers talk and learn from fellow developers.
The general idea is to have seminars that everyone can attend and speak at. In order to ensure this, Thom Robbins wrote a Code Camp manifesto:
Code Camps:
1. Are by and for the developer community.
2. Are always
free.
3. Contain Community developed material.
4. Have no
fluff - only
code.
5. Have community ownership.
6. Never occur during working hours.
As for July 22 - 2005, a handful of Code Camps have been arranged in the United States. It remains to be seen if this thing catches on and survives the first hype.
