Ted Bronson's Coke Roast

This simple recipe is a favorite at our home, and it is very easy to make!

Ingredients:

First off, if you froze the roast you need it to be completely thawed before you start. Plug in the crock-pot and toss in the roast. Sprinkle one of the onion soup pouches over and around the meat. Add the potatoes, celery, and carrots. You should basically fill the crock-pot, just make sure you can still put the lid on neatly. Sprinkle the other onion soup pouch over it, then pour in the can of Coke. Add pepper and garlic powder to taste, I usually use about 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and a teaspoon of pepper, but your mileage may vary. Set the crockpot to medium (or normal), and let cook for about 8 hours, stirring occasionally. You will know it is ready when the roast falls apart at a touch from the spoon.

I usually serve this with bread, but have found recently that pouring it over a cup or two of rice makes for a better and more filling meal.

Enjoy!
