The console scene is in many ways similar to the demo scene. It is a collection of individuals who haved formed groups (such as Dual Craw + Shining) that enjoy producing eyecatching displays, tools and games.

Unlike their home computer counterparts the console scene have a much tougher learning curve to contend with as consoles aren't really designed to be programmed by home users and manufacturers would rather keep the tech specs secret and sell the required knowledge to companies at an extortionate rate.

The major threat to the console scene is that its members are viewed by manufacturers as mere software pirates who are out to damage their profit margins when in all honesty most of us would like a job in the games industry and see this as a good way to prove ourselves.
