Step 1: Place node in zipper bag or wrap in plastic wrap.

Step 2: Put in refrigerator, preferably on top rack.

Step 3: Leave in for at least 4 hours, or overnight.

Step 4: Remove from zipper bag or plastic wrap.

Step 5: Place in medium-sized bowl, and add shallots and crushed red pepper to taste, mixing with an electric mixer or wire whisk.

Step 6: Serve with tossed radicchio salad or grilled escargot burgers, depending on the occasion. Enjoy!


In response to Melchizedek: Actually, crushed red pepper doesn't affect the physical temperature of the node, but instead reduces brainfreezes. However, like the Shallots, it's not essential for cooling.
