Literally the "body of god". Most people today do not believe that god has a literal body. Instead, they believe he is a spirit, or the embodiment of love, or female, or nonexistent, or well....

2.Also the main point of James Morrow's novel "Towing Jehovah" This novel follows the life of Captain Anthony Van Horne, who is stripped of his captain's license after an unfortunate (and huge) oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. An angel comes to visit him telling him that god has died and his body has fallen into the Atlantic. Now its Van Horne's chance to redeem himself, by towing god's body into the icey Arctic ocean. Of course, along the way, enviromentalists out for his blood, and a crew in the dark and about to mutiny don't make the job easier. Good book, has sequels.
