Crickhowell is a small town in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is also in South Wales. Officially described as an area of Outstanding National Beauty, it is renowned for having seemingly unique weather patterns which do not corresspond to forecasts for the surrounding area. This is due to the fact that it is in a natural bowl created by mountains on either side. The river Usk runs through it.

The town has an abnormally large number of pubs for its size, largest of which is The Bear which was voted "Best Pub in Britain" serveral times through the 90's.
