Robert A. Metzger, in his article "Confessions of a CO2 Composter" (Wired Magazine), calls his idea Crop Residue Sequestering, or CRS.

A process of sinking crop residue into the depths of the ocean where low temperatures will prevent it from decomposing and releasing CO2.  By trapping CO2, this process will hopefully slow down global warming.

(note: this is still an idea and hasn't been actually implemented yet.)
