Cuervo Gold is a variety of
cheap tequila. It is amber in color, and comes in a gold labeled bottle. It contains the bare minimum of the required
agave extract, supplementing plain
sugar and other liquids for the rest. It is a very poor tasting
tequila that will provide you with many hours of unpleasant
hangovers.
However, a bottle of this exists in the liquor cabinet of everyone I know. The reason for this has to be because of reputation only. It is amazing how the Jose Cuervo name has become synonymous with tequila in the United States, when the product is so entirely bad.
