Digital Bearer Certificates (DBC) are representations of value, withdrawn from an
ALTA/
DMT anonymous account, protected by a user-selected
password.
These certificates can be used for
storage of value outside the
ALTA/
DMT system or for
payment to anyone who accepts such bearer certificates. The
recipient of a DMT
Digital Bearer Certificate can anonymously
validate,
reissue or
deposit the certificate.
There are three interfaces:
The textual format is a base64 encoded ASN.1/DER structure, describing the encrypted certificate. It looks slightly like an ASCII armoured PGP message.
