The artist name of Dutch DJ, producer and musician Tijs Verwest. Makes and mixes electronic dance music, especially trance and club flavors of same. Born on the 17th of January 1969, Tiësto started mixing at the age of 14, moving into clubs only a few years later. Tiësto has released more than 30 records, notably the successful Magik series, and has his own record label, Black Hole Records. He is resident at Gatecrasher and normally plays the venues on Ibiza in the summers. He releases music under many different names, notably Gouryella, Kamaya Painters and Vimana. Together with Dutch producer/musician Ferry Corsten, he also has the band System F.
