American science fiction author. Born 1920 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Died 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

A naval aviator and test pilot during World War II, Galouye worked, after the war, mostly as a journalist. Never a famous writer, Galouye nevertheless managed to produce a number of minor gems of science fiction. He was particularly gifted as a short story writer, and was published in most of the major science fiction magazines of the time, including Galaxy and Astounding.
