Jimmy was 23 when his superpower finally got allocated. They were splitting them pretty thin those days and he ended up with the power to see through eyelids. Beyond being able to tell if someone was in REM sleep from several feet away it hadn't yet proved useful.
One effect was that everyone always looked wide awake and cheery.
Another was that it worked on his own eyelids too.
Jimmy didn't get any REM sleep for a while.
