a special ensemble in which important figures of American avant-garde trends take part, among these Stuart Dempster, Panaiotis, and David Gamper. founded by Pauline Oliveros. the sound is generated by the acoustic sounds of the performers in real time. Each player effects real time transformations of their sounds with foot pedals supported by a computer program.

American experimental music band, which uses free and structured improvisation based around deep, focussed, meditative listening. Although they perform live with the Expanded Instrument System, their main focus is the exploration of unique acoustic environments, such as highly reverberant spaces, such as cathedrals and underground cisterns. Electronics are used to approximate some of these listening experiences.

Although the band invites guests from time to time, the regular members are Pauline Oliveros: accordion, Stuart Dempster: trombone, and David Gamper: piano.
