The city of
Leningrad was under siege for an about 2 years and over 2 million died defending the city from the Germans. Instituted on December 22, 1942, this medal was awarded to those who helped save the City of
Lenin.
Consists of a gold disk with triumphant Soviet soldiers securing the city marching through, hanging from a white and green ribbon.
