Directors' Guild of Great Britain is the body that represents British media directors. Full membership of the Guild is open to anyone who has two professional credits as a primary director to their name; everyone else has to make do with associate membership.

The Guild is formally registered as an independent trade union but is not affiliated to the Trades Union Congress and is primarily a campaigning organisation concerned in particular to establish the principle that directors have copyright over their work and are therefore entitled to receive ongoing payments for secondary uses of their work. (This is generally denied to directors at the moment due to the practice of buyout contracts.)
