"Do you use money in the Philippines?" this is one of the many stupid questions some Americans ask Filipinos who go to the U.S.. I used to not believe that people really asked these things, but when my brother went there, he was asked the question above. Similar questions include "Do you have roller skates in the Philippines?" and "Philippines? Isn't that an American protectorate?" the last one asked by a Harvard graduate, no less.

This may be excusable if it weren't for the fact that: 1.) The Philippines was an American colony early in this century. And 2.) There are a large number of Filipinos in the U.S..
