'Dolan's Cadillac' is a short story found in Stephen King's 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes'. It is also, in my opinion, by far his best. There are no gimmicks, no supernatural elements, and there is no cheese to be seen for miles. This is a simple story of revenge. Most of Stephen King's stories aren't really all that scary. This is no exception, but it does leave you with chills.

I'll try to give you the gist of the story without going into too much detail and spoiling it. A man, whose name I cannot remember because it has been years since I have read this story, has a wife who is murdered by a local crime boss, Dolan. The man decides to avenge his wife's death, and prepares a plan to kill Dolan and get away with it. He meticulously works out every last detail, and devotes his life to vengeance (his plan includes a career change, from teaching to DOT). He waits for months until the opportunity arises... and the story ends not too long after that. The story's fairly lengthy, so you can get into it pretty deep... and I don't have anything else to say...
