Nancy Mitford's 1960 novel. Continues on from "The Pursuit of Love" and "Love in a Cold Climate". Frances and her husband Alfred are now at the British Embassy in Paris. The book concerns their adventures there, involving Embassy staff, politicians, the former Ambassadress (based loosely on Lady Diana Cooper), and others. Aspects of 1950s life including rock 'n' roll, a pop star and a beatnik couple, appear. Not as good as the previous two novels.
