Dr. Ruth Westheimer has a masters degree in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Education from Columbia University. She studied human sexuality with Dr. Helen Singer-Kaplan, and is a "Psychosexual Therapist."

Dr. Ruth's agenda is spreading what she has labeled "sexual literacy." She's very keen on encouraging honest communication between kids and parents regarding intimacy. She frequently advises her adult audiences to "Have good sex!" The National Mother's Day Committee once chose her as "Mother of the Year."

She encourages love, commitment, and crazy wild inventive sex. In that order. She encourages people to be honest with each other and try new things, to push sexual boundaries but not to do things that make anyone uncomfortable or unhappy. Sure it's creepy getting sex advice from a muppet, but she knows her topic.

She has authored 17 books and appeared in several movies and tv shows, usually playing her freaky little self.
