Actually,
FDISK,
FORMAT and
EDIT are not
DOS commands, but small utilities that are usually bundled with
DOS, and are copied onto a disk when creating a "
boot disk" in
Windows.
a disk made bootable with
format a: /s
will not have these utilities, and may well be useless if the hard drives on the system are not availible.
