Espen J. Aarseth is a
Norwegian computer programmer and
author. He is currently an associate
professor in the Department of Humanistic Informatics at the University of Bergen. His interests include cybermedia,
ergodic literature,
hypertext aesthetics,
multi-user dungeons, and
cyberpunk/
sci-fi.
He has written many works, including Cybertext, which attempts to construct a theoretical model of the new literary form. The book originated as his doctoral dissertation.
