Ahem. An attrocious filk, to the tune of Everyday Is A Winding Road...

I caught a train, and met a Linux kernel guru,
He said he'd groked it, before all the hype.
He was high on sugar and some caffeine,
But that's always the way with that type.

longjmp(1), trace the flow,
Now where does the process go?
Into user space? Or into kernel mode?
In the scheduler, nobody knows!

Chorus:
Everyday I spend writing code,
I get a little bit closer...
Everyday is a hundred lines
that get me closer,..
to more uptime!

He's got a project he calls 'ALSA',
Sound drivers which are structured just right,
I'm just wondering if he funded it all on his own,
Or was he sponsored by corporate might?

longjmp(1), trace the flow,
Now where does the process go?
Into user space? Or into kernel mode?
In the scheduler, nobody knows!

I've been living in a sea of AOL CDs,
I've been living on sugar and caffeine,
I've been wondering if all the bugs I've seen
will ever be, be fixed in the latest source tree..

With profuse apologies to Sheryl Crow and Alan Cox... I'll get me coat.
