Extreme Noise Terror is a UK-based grindcore band in 1985 formed by Phil Jane (vocals), Pigkiller (drums), Dean Jones (vocals), Jerry Clay (bass), and Pete Hurley (guitars). Considered as the first-ever grindcore band along with Napalm Death and Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror stands out from the two by incorporating both guttural growls and hardcore vocal screams, combined with thunderous guitar distortion and gut-wrenching blast beats in their music.

It was only a matter of time before Extreme Noise Terror caught the attention of Manic Ears Records execs, who signed them immediately and finally released their debut album Earslaughter, which up to now remains to be a grindcore landmark. The band was also asked to play a cover version of K.L.F.'s 3AM Eternal, earning them a spot at 1992's British Music Awards.
