Formed from a merger between Exxon and Mobil which was completed November 30, 1999, after shareholder and regulatory appovals. An agreement to merge had been signed between the two companies in 1998.

The world's largest integrated oil company, Exxon Mobil engages in oil and gas exploration, production, supply, transportation, and marketing around the world.
It has proved reserves of almost 21 billion barrels of oil equivalent and its refineries can process more than 6 million barrels a day.
Exxon Mobil also produce and sell petrochemicals as well as being involved in minerals, coal mining and power generation.

It employs 123,000 people.
The company has over 40,000 service stations, 16,000 of these in the US. It operates in 118 countries under the brands Exxon, Esso and Mobil.
