In addition to being a maker of bows and arrows, the Fletcher was also the handgun weapon that Molly (or Sally, depending on which book) used in Neuromancer, the first of William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy (also containing Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive. The gun shot multiple 'flechettes' (flèche in French means 'arrow') in a cluster, containing anything from explosives to tranquilizers.

Although a clear description of the Fletcher was not given in the novels, the screenplay describes it as having four barrels, along with a pepperbox muzzle. It is fed from a clip located in the handle of the gun.
