A rum drink with vermouth? Incredulous.
All we have is rum. We’ll just have to make do. Pragmatic.
As long as I don’t end up wearing it.

1 1/2 oz light rum
1 oz dry vermouth, preferably Nolly Prat
1/2 oz lime juice
dash angostura bitters
Stir with cube ice.1 Strain into a cocktail glass adorned with a thin runner of ivy wound around the stem.

A fig leaf is metaphorically a position or stance used to provide the flimsiest of probable deniability to a person or organization that has dual, and dueling, stated and actual agendas.

The metaphor has its origin in Genesis, Chapter 3 Verse 6, where Adam and Eve hastily use fig leaves to cover their nakedness.
