The second largest city in Indiana after Indianapolis. It is located in northeast Indiana in Allen County. Interstate 69 passes through this town of about 175,000. Fort Wayne is a railroad, wholesale, and distribution hub with electronics and automotive industries. It was named for a French fort that was built before 1680, and replaced by one that was built in the 1790's by Anthony Wayne.
