Sicily, at the turn of the
19th century, Frank Capra was there to see
movies be invented and to have immense
impact on what they will
develop into - and he has.
His most well known movie is probably that Christmas staple, It's a Wonderful Life (1946), but he made many oher politically and socially poignant films, among the more famous Mr. Smith Goes to Washinton (1939) and Meet John Doe (1941).
He also invented the romantic comedy genre with It Happened One Night (1934) and contributed to the oddball comedy genre with, among others, Arsenic and Old Lace (1944).
He collaborated with some of the greatest actors of the 20th century, like Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant, Barbra Stenwick, Jean Harlow, Clark Gable, Gary Cooper and many others.
