(1865-1947) American printer, author, and typographer. He is best remembered for the 124 typefaces that he designed.

Goudy cofounded the Camelot Press in 1895 where he printed a magazine called "Chap-Book". Neither venture lasted long. In 1897 he married Bertha Sprinks. She eventually became an expert typesetter working alongside him. Goudy established the Village Press in 1903 and in 1904 won the bronze medal for book printing at the St. Louis World's Fair. He and Bertha moved the Village Press to various locations in New York before it was destroyed by fire in 1939. (An estimated 75 typefaces were lost.) After that, he focused on design, writing, and lecturing.
