French Hip Hop

A branch of Hip Hop based in France. The central development of it is coming out of Paris. The music itself is different that American Hip Hop. They are very big on scratching, and use that extensively with lots of instrumentals to fall back on. The music seems to have a less noticable beat, so one can focus on the music.

Some French Hip Hop also mix in English lyricists and their overall lyrics tend to be less violent than Gangsta Rap (however not necessarily not vulgar). Although French Hop did originate from France, many other French speaking countries use this style. For example: Canada (Quebec, Ontario esp). Some French Hip Hop lyricists are Doc Gyneco or MC Solaar.
