A MUCK for furries. FurryMUCK was the first furry-themed MUCK in existence.

The MUCK's public areas are just for discussion, casual chatting. Many come there to roleplay anthropomorphic animals (also known as furries, even though the fur isn't an requirement and even human characters are perfectly allowed - dammit, I saw a few car characters there!). Fursonally, I go there to be an anthropomorphic animal =)

FurryMUCK is huge. Really huge. There are lots and lots and lots of objects in its object database. Tons of rooms, items and characters. Full database backup dump takes around 20 minutes - take that as a gauge on how the system fares...

FM is, as mentioned above, widely known for netsex - but personally, I can just say I really had to look for it really hard to even see people talking about this mythical activity.

My own favorite place there is The Purple Nurple (place where many g/l/b/t furs hang in). I've built my own castle there, as well as the Nethack Cafe, a place to discuss about Nethack.

Oh, and technical detail: It runs on Linux (used to run on NetBSD and before that on other *NIXes)
