An archaic reminder of Britain's industrial past, the General Union of Loom Overlookers or GULO is the British Trades Union that naturally represents the interests of loom overlookers.

A "loom overlooker" being a superintendent, traditionally male. employed in a textile mill to oversee the largely female workforce. There are only 250 or so left, which is not surprising as most of Britain's textile industry is located in Morocco these days.
