Late professor and occasional administrator at UC Berkeley. Winner of the Nobel Prize; luminary of the Lawrence Berkeley Lab; discoverer of an enormous number of chemical elements, and the only person to have an element named after him during his lifetime (Seaborgium, chemical symbol "Sg"). Seaborg is the reason that so many elements have names related somehow to the surroundings of Berkeley, California.

Seaborg enjoyed giving guest lectures in Chem 1A at UC Berkeley. He would often point out that he was the only living person addressable entirely by elements: Sg, Lr, Bk, Cf, Am.

He also used to enjoy pointing out that 'Seaborg' is an anagram for 'Go Bears!'
