Lying there, just before the dawn that would call you away - we shared cigarettes, as if we needed them - both of us glowing so on the inside.

Raising glowing embers to our lips - illuminating our bodies for the briefest of moments, teasing one another with the light, as if we needed even that. I could trace every inch of your flesh and skin in the darkness, know every contour of your bones...

But we light one another up like fireflies as the sun slowly rises and we give up on sleep as wasted time on this night.

Who knows when we'll both be so happy again?
