The memories

they took me down into the dark

just another cellar of a dead heart

and I listened intently but your

voice was quiet

Muted, the flame extinguished

the embers cold

Touching your hands

they took me down into the dark

and the deep, damp mossy ground

where your bones lay still

dreaming quietly

Muted, your heart that had cried

held no warmth

My futile tears

they took me down into the dark

a sense of belonging creeping up

along my spine and soul

waiting for the

moment your fire burst from your

heart, burning wildly

in memory
