Founded in 1993, Hair of the Dog Brewing Company, is a Portland based beer company boasts one of the the highest percent by volume beers (according to Maxim: June 2000). It has 4 different types of beers named: Ruth, Adam, Rose, and Fred. Each beer is distinct in its own way, and more so because these beers actually finish the fermentation process inside the bottle, just like wine. The Brewery lists the percent by volume for some of the beers at 10%, yet it can rise, if aged correctly, at room temperature. Maxim noted that the beer they tested was around 12% by volume. I'm not in the Portland area, but anyone around Portland should definitely try it out, and maybe send me some too. You can visit their website at www.hairofthedog.com. I recommend Adam over Fred. He seems to be a much nicer blend.
