A son of Sisyphus and the brother of Glaucus, Ornytion, and Thessandrus (Table 35). Eteocles, king of Orchomenus, gave Halmus a portion of land on which he founded the city of Halmones. He had two daughters, Chrysogone and Chryse. Chrysogone had a son by Poseidon called Chryses; Chryse had a son by Ares called Phlegyas.
