Formed in the late sixties, and only releasing one album, which was the second worst selling album in Columbia Records' history, they were made famous from their concerts with such greats as the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band. Col. Bruce Hampton was the only member who went on to achieve any kind of fame, although all of them appeared in a conversation on Frank Zappa's Lumpy Gravy.
